Exploring the United Kingdom

When I started this blog I intended to write a travel blog about the places I visited abroad. However I found that many of my readers came from overseas particularly the United States of America  and that some of my most popular posts were about the United Kingdom.  I live in Bristol in the South West of England and I love exploring places near and far  I belong to a local walk in the past history group and most weekends we explore a local place of historical significance.  I also love visiting other parts of the United Kingdom and I spent three years in Wales as a student. Britain attracts a lot of tourists even if the weather is unpredictable and the roads crowded.  If you visit I hope you will find that the natives are friendly. If you are anxious about the food you will find a wide range of international restaurants to suit all budgets. Public transport is generally good if expensive.

Here are some of the posts you will find on my blog and I hope I can encourage you to visit if you have not already come to see us.

I hope to add further posts about the United Kingdom as I explore more and find interesting places to share.  Last year we did a cruise right round the British Isles and it made me realise how small an island we call home. If you have any tips for visitors please feel free to add them in the comments below.
